Get to know Innar, Development Manager
I like having a complete picture of a project and feeling the freedom and creativity in my work.
What is Dise to you?
Dise is a mix of family and high technology. We have a warm and supportive family environment, while also having the pleasure of working with cutting-edge technology. There are many opportunities for both employees and partners. During my job interview, I emphasized that I wanted to be a dedicated programmer as my life already had so many variables - a new country, home, language, job, and a little baby. However, after just one month, I was asked to become a Development Manager. Although it wasn't a change I had asked for, I am now eagerly looking forward to succeeding in this new position. It is a highly responsible job as for our partners and end customers we are building an infrastructure that makes it possible to create an entire universe of installations.
What motivates you in your work?
I don't consider it work; it's my hobby. It's a fantastic feeling when your job feels like a hobby because there's never any stress. The motivation comes from my genuine interest.
What excites you most about the tech industry?
The tech industry has very few limitations. If you want to create something that doesn't exist in the world yet and think outside the box, you are free to do it. Compared to industries like construction or medicine, the tech industry offers a unique level of creative freedom. I am grateful to be part the tech industry.
What made you move from Estonia to Karlstad, Sweden?
After seeing my friends travel and work around the world, I felt inspired to do the same. Initially, I looked for a job in Norway but realized it wasn't the right fit for me. Norway felt crowded, as if everyone was living close together under a mountain. In Estonia, we value having a large personal space and not being able to see our neighbours. By chance, my wife, baby girl, dog, and I ended up in Karlstad and we instantly fell in love with the place. However, we know that learning the language is crucial to fully integrate into the community. Once we become proficient in Swedish, we believe our experience here will be even more optimal. The people here are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which has made us feel very included.
What is your favourite innovation?
The refrigerator – I love food
What inspires you?
Waking up in the morning with two fully functional hands and two feet. I don't even need a cup of coffee. I am grateful for what I have - freedom. I like having a complete picture of a project and feeling the freedom and creativity in my work. My grandfather was a pilot, and my other grandfather was a composer. I suppose my desire for freedom comes from them. Personally, I engage in paragliding and play both the piano and guitar, so both of my grandfathers would be happy for me.
